Utah Women Artists Exhibition (UWAE)

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

ELIGIBILITY

This juried Art Show is open to Utah women artists only, over the age of 18, residing in the State of Utah. Submissions must be original artwork that has been completed within the past two years.

Our purpose is to celebrate the talented and prolific women artists in Utah and to support and promote their individual works of art and voice.

We invite entries of original work that address our purpose and theme in a considerable way.

We invite submissions from artists with the following levels of experience:

Student

Amateur

Mature Amateur

Professional

TYPES OF MEDIA

Open to original art in all mediums, except for video and installation (not accommodated by our size or venue).

ENTRY FEE

There is an entry fee of $25.00 per submission. Each artist may submit up to 3 works of art.

ADJUDICATION

This exhibit is adjudicated by an objective individual residing outside of the State of Utah, who is seasoned and knowledgeable as an art educator, collector, artist, curator, or other appropriately designated Juror/Judge to preside over this Art Call and Exhibition.


SUBMISSION OF IMAGES

Please submit professional images of your artwork in JPG format. The UWAE organizing committee will retain the submitted images of accepted artwork and expressly reserves the right to use the images in all forms of publicity about the Exhibition and future Exhibitions.

SALES & PRICING OF ARTWORK

The UWAE provides you the opportunity to sell your artwork. Please double check to ensure your pricing is entered accurately with decimal placing. The Utah Cultural Celebration Center (UCC) will handle sales of your work and will retain 30% of the sales price as a commission for exhibiting and for handling the sales transaction. Please do consider these elements (as well as costs of logistics, framing, etc. to make your work exhibit-ready) when determining sales pricing for your artwork.

EXHIBITING YOUR ARTWORK

All work accepted for the Exhibition will be checked-in at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center on Friday, August 30, 2024 between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.

Work may be delivered in person or shipped.

If you ship your work, please include a phone or text contact number and plan to have the work arrive at the UCC on or before Friday, August 30, 2024. All shipping charges are at the artist’s expense. You must also include a pre-paid return shipping label. Please ship in a re-useable container. Your work will be returned in the same manner as it was received (unless it is sold!).

The Exhibition runs September 5th through October 16, 2024.

If you deliver your work in person, please plan to pick-up your work in person (unless it is sold!). In-person pick-up is Thursday, October 17, 2024 between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.

Artists are responsible to deliver and collect their work(s) on the dates specified and/or are responsible for shipping costs to and from the Exhibition within the dates specified.

All work must arrive ready to install. Work that arrives not gallery-ready or not exhibiting good craftsmanship may be omitted from the exhibit. Work that differs significantly from the entry images or suffers from poor presentation may be disqualified. Professional level presentation is a must.


PUBLICITY

Artists who participate in the Exhibition agree to be filmed or photographed and expressly agree that AAUW of Utah, UWAE, and UCC shall have the right to copy and/or reproduce and/or use any and all images associated with the Exhibition for the purpose of promoting the organizations and the Exhibition, for general marketing or promotional purposes, and other related activities including but not limited to marketing materials, postcards, catalogues, posters, website, social media, and any other media devised, now and in the future.


​INSURANCE

Your artwork will be treated with absolute care by our professional exhibitors, staff and dedicated volunteers. Nevertheless, artists are advised to cover their work with their own insurance, during transit and for the duration of the Exhibition period.

AAUW of Utah, UWAE, and UCC expressly and impliedly do not accept any responsibility for damage to your artwork while in transit, exhibiting, accidents, or other incidents.

AGREEMENT TO PARTICIPATE

By submitting an entry, you indicate that you agree with these Terms and Conditions of entry and exhibition, that you are reserving spots in our juried art call, that you agree to make your work available for the Exhibition Opening Reception on September 5, 2024 and throughout the duration of the Exhibition running through October 16, 2024, and that you will deliver your artwork on Friday, August 30, 2024 to the Utah Cultural Celebration Center; or you will arrange to have your artwork shipped to arrive at UCC on or before August 30, 2024.

By submitting an entry, you represent yourself to be the sole legal owner of all rights, titles and interests in all works submitted.

By submitting an entry, you grant AAUW of Utah, UWAE, and UCC permission to reproduce your name, information describing your work, representations of your work and any other information you provide for the purpose of display, promotion and publicity, either now or in the future, and via media channels including, but not limited to, email, print, radio, television, social media, web pages, etc., now and in the future.

By submitting an entry, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions and that you expressly release AAUW of Utah and its members, the Utah Women Artists Exhibition (UWAE) and its committee members, and the Utah Cultural Celebration Center (UCC) and its staff from any and all liability for loss or damage to works submitted to the exhibition; and you acknowledge and understand that items on display will not be covered under any insurance policy through AAUW of Utah, UWAE, or UCC.

PLEASE DO NOT submit an entry if you cannot follow through with these Terms and Conditions and timeline. Please don’t double-book your work or commit to other exhibitions if you wish to be part of this adjudicated, sales, and promotional opportunity.

PLEASE DO share this opportunity with other artists and members of the Utah art community. The ongoing success of our Art Show (which originated in 1981) is more exciting and fulfilling with greater participation and community support.
